The tender and generous love of Our Lady is amazing! To those who ask she will take as her daughters to train up as she did Jesus and the saints. She is Mother of the Church and to all individuals who love Jesus, her Son: "...her offspring, those who keep God's commandments and bear witness to Jesus." (Revelation 12:17)
A Spiritual Growth Ministry for women, their friends and teen/young adult daughters to share, encourage and mentor each other as Christ and His Blessed Mother desire. All are welcome!
Women Under Mary's Mantle (WUMM) is a spiritual growth ministry for women who desire to grow spiritually under Mary's example and teaching. We acknowledge her place in Scripture as the Mother of our Savior who tells all of us, "Do what He tells you to do" John 4. We look to her as our model to live our daily lives in humility, obedience, gratitude, service, prayer, faithfulness and loyalty, good example and many other qualities she teaches us. We recognize that Jesus' last concern in this life was making sure we receive Mary as our Mother and offer ourselves to her as her children: "'Here is your mother.' From that time on, this disciple took her into his home." John 19:27. Who are Mary's children? "Those who keep God's commandments and bear witness to Jesus" Revelation 12:17.
We desire to grow closer to her son, our Lord Jesus Christ and to know and honor His Mother and our Mother. In doing these things, we will be better Christians, daughters, wives, mothers and friends.
Come and be spiritually refreshed and filled through loving fellowship, support and prayer with other ladies as we seek to live for Christ daily. We welcome women of all ages and backgrounds - women of Mary Queen Parish and their teenage/young adult daughters, friends and others are most welcome at every function.
First Friday Monthly Fellowship: Our monthly fellowship topics include subjects for spiritual growth for the individual, family and community. Each program includes a teaching on Scriptural principles, spiritual growth lessons, prayer and fellowship. Many programs are book reviews of writings of church fathers, inspirational works and writings to help women become better wives, daughters, mothers, singles and Godly Women.
We study The diary of St. Faustina Kowalska and other works of saints. And we strive to practice works of mercy in our daily lives as evidence of our Christian commitment.
Our gatherings include group Spiritual Direction exercises according to St. Ignatius of Loyola. We gather on First Fridays that are not holidays or holiday weekends. We may also gather at other times during the year for programs and fellowship as planned.
Consecration to Jesus According to St. Louis de Montfort: Our ministry promotes consecrating oneself and family to Jesus through Mary, the Blessed Spouse of the Holy Spirit and Mother of Jesus Our Lord according to St. Louis de Montfort's Total Devotion and Fr. Michael Gaitley's 33 Days to Morning Glory. Both women and men seeking a deeper walk with Christ and His Mother are welcome.
We gather four times for instruction and prayer with group support during the 33 day prayer period. Presently, we offer annual group formation for those who wish to engage in the Consecration process prior to the Marian Feast Day of the Coronation of Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, August 22nd. Please watch the Mary Queen bulletin for the next information presentation and group formation sessions which begin each year on July 20th.
Souls consecrated to our Holy Mother are under her protection in a special way, and receive great graces. She will bring us closer to Jesus than we ever could get on our own. Every soul that completes this consecration brings us closer to the day that our Lady prophesized at Fatima: "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will Triumph."
Novena to Mary, Undoer of Knots: We sponsor and pray this powerful novena for those who desire to pray for families beginning on the Feast of the Holy Family - First Sunday after Christmas. We offer instruction and group prayer at the beginning, middle and end of the Novena. Both women and men are welcome. Participants may pray on their own or join the group.
Divine Mercy Novena and Divine Mercy Sunday Celebrations: We study and encourage praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet, The Three O'clock Hour of Prayer and the Annual Divine Mercy Novena and programs beginning on Good Friday and the Feast of Divine Mercy Sunday Celebrations (first Sunday after Easter).
Jesus has appointed St. Faustina Kowalska as His Apostle of Mercy for our times. In the 1930's, she received from the Lord messages of mercy that she was told to spread throughout the world. Jesus told St. Faustina: Mankind will not have peace until it turns with trust to My mercy. At the Lord's request, she willingly offered her personal sufferings in union with Him to atone for the sins of others. Her special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and to the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation gave her the strength to bear all her sufferings as an offering to God on behalf of the Church and those in special need.
On the Feast of the Annunciation, March 25, 1936, Mary appeared to St. Faustina and urged her to speak to the world about the Divine Mercy and to prepare the world for the second coming of Jesus. She said that He is prolonging the time of mercy before the time of Justice begins. It is for us to heed this message and understand how important it is to us and to our families. Jesus gave a promise to Faustina for those who would proclaim His mercy - "Those who will proclaim My great mercy I shall protect them Myself at the hour of death as My own glory."
We encourage participation in all of our activities as a means to personal spiritual growth and as a service to the parish spiritual growth as a whole.
