Mission Statement
Eternal Life through New Life in baptism.
Ministry Description
The Sacramental Rite of Infant Baptism is open to all parishioners of Mary Queen and those living within parish boundaries. Mary Queen offers preparation classes for parents with children under seven years of age and for godparents. A Baptism Interview is required. Interviews are scheduled every first and third Monday of the month.
Parents seeking baptism in the Catholic Church are required by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston to attend Baptism Preparation Classes. Classes are offered at Mary Queen on the second Saturday of odd numbered months (January, March, May, July, September and November) from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Baptism Classes at Mary Queen are open to all persons in need of catechesis. There is a $25.00 administrative fee, payable the day of the class, for non-parishioners. The class expires after three years.
Those parents who have met the requirements outlined in the "Requirements" section for baptism of infants are encouraged to attend classes as soon as possible, preferably during pregnancy.
Events
Baptisms are celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of each month after the 11:30 AM Mass (except during Lent) and are scheduled at the completion of the required catechesis.
