La Salette Mission Appeal 2019 Fr. Jenson Chendrappinny, MS
The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette will preach the Annual Parish Mission Appeal on June 22nd & 23rd. Our mission speaker this year is Fr. Jenson Chendrappinny, MS, from Kerala, India. Fr. Jenson was born on March 26, 1978 and became a La Salette Missionary on May 1, 2001. He was ordained to the priesthood on September 08, 2005. After ordination he served in different places in India especially in the State of Andhra Pradesh, the first mission house of the province, with much zeal and love for God. In recent years, he completed his Licentiate in Missiology and currently is serving as the Director of the La Salette Retreat center in Kerala. He is a retreat preacher and author of 3 books in his native language. We welcome Fr. Jenson to Mary Queen Catholic church.
The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette minister to people of every race, language, culture and way of life—beginning at the La Salette Shrine in France where our Blessed Mother appeared in 1846. Her final words, “Well, my children, you will make this known to all my people,” echo Jesus’ Gospel mandate. It is little wonder that the La Salette Congregation has always been mission oriented. When called upon by the Vatican to preach the Gospel in foreign lands, they eagerly responded. This spirit brought them to mission in 27 countries, especially among the poor in Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Haiti, India, Madagascar, Myanmar, the Philippines and now the most recent, Tanzania.
