Mission Statement


The Hispanic Ministry serves all parishioners of Mary Queen Catholic Church by coordinating and leading our Church's religious events with a Hispanic nature.


Ministry Description


The Hispanic Ministry is responsible for the initiation, coordination and accomplishment of all religious activities with a Hispanic theme within Mary Queen Catholic Church. Of these activities, the most visible is the annual December celebration of the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The ministry holds monthly meetings and though the theme is Hispanic, the meetings are held in English The Ministry is open to all parishioners of Mary Queen.


Activities


  • Bi-monthly bilingual rosaries
  • Periodic, after mass, fund raisers through breakfast taco sales
  • Periodic support in serving the after mass coffee and donuts
  • Coordinating and staging the annual Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration


Events


  • Bilingual Rosaries on every other month
  • In May, awarding of two $1,000 scholarships to two graduating high school senior parishioners
  • Taco sale fundraisers during the year
  • Our Lady of Guadalupe Rosary and Mass in December


Volunteer/Service Opportunities


  • Coordinate bilingual rosaries
  • Coordinate an event within the annual OLG celebration
  • Coordinate a fundraiser event
  • Periodically provide support in serving coffee and donuts after Mass on Sundays


Time Requirements


  • Monthly meetings are 1.5 hours in duration
  • Coordination of an event is usually less than 8 hours per month
  • Attending Rosaries are about 1 to 2 hours per event
  • Attending taco sales are about 2 to 4 hours per event
  • Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration is about 4 to 6 hours
